The major of Electronic Science and Technology at Shenzhen University began enrolling students in 1995 and was then called Optoelectronic Technology. In 1998, it was renamed as Electronic Science and Technology according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education, and has enrolled students under the new major name since 1999. In 2004, it was approved as a provincial-level IT famous brand major. The major has been fully enrolled in the first-tier universities of Guangdong Province since 2013. The major of Electronic Science and Technology has two main directions: radio frequency and microwave technology, and optoelectronic technology. The main courses include circuit analysis, analog electronics technology, microcontrollers and embedded systems, electromagnetic field and electromagnetic wave, quantum mechanics, signals and systems, semiconductor device physics, microwave technology, laser principles, etc. The major is committed to cultivating students who have a solid foundation in natural science, systematic professional knowledge, strong experimental skills, and engineering practice ability in the field of electronic science and technology. The major also integrates innovative consciousness and trains students with the ability to master new theories, new knowledge, and new technologies in this field. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates has been over 95%.
