The Department of Microelectronics Science and Engineering at Shenzhen University began enrolling undergraduate students in 2009, and the enrollment major was Microelectronics Science and Engineering. Before 2019, the major was under the College of Electronic Science and Technology at Shenzhen University. However, in 2019, it entered the School of Electronic and Information Engineering at Shenzhen University and continued to undertake the training of undergraduate talents in the direction of integrated circuits and semiconductor devices. Currently, there are 16 full-time teachers in the major, including one national-level special professor. Among them, there are 14 teachers with doctoral degrees, 2 with senior titles, and 8 with deputy senior titles, and 8 young talents under the age of 40, all from famous universities at home and abroad. Since its establishment, the Department of Microelectronics Science and Engineering has always focused on the training objectives of microelectronics science and engineering. It is based in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, closely integrated with the strategic needs of international frontiers and national electronic information industry development. It adheres to the implementation of the Party and state's education policies and aims to cultivate electronic hardware talents with a good humanistic spirit, solid theoretical foundation, practical professional knowledge, and outstanding engineering capabilities in the direction of integrated circuits and semiconductor devices. The major has the characteristics of cross-fusion between microelectronics disciplines and system disciplines. It offers a complete knowledge system curriculum covering physics, devices, processes, design, system integration, and applications. It attaches importance to the combination of students' basic professional knowledge and engineering practice skills, and focuses on cultivating a group of high-level engineering and innovative talents in the direction of integrated circuit enterprise demand, facing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and the Shenzhen first demonstration zone.
