On October 10th, 2022, the team of Professor John P. A. Ioannidis at Stanford University released the 4th edition of the World's Top 2% Scientists list, selecting nearly 200,000 scientists from over 9 million worldwide to represent the top 2% of their respective fields, covering 21 domains and 161 sub-fields. The list is divided into the "Lifetime Scientific Impact Rankings" (1960-2021) and the "2021 Annual Scientific Impact Rankings".
CEIE has a total of 22 scholars selected for the global top 2% scientists list, with 7 scholars simultaneously selected for both the "Lifetime Scientific Impact Rankings" and the "2021 Annual Scientific Impact Rankings".

Selected for the global top 2% scientists "2021 Annual Scientific Impact Rankings" list (2022 edition) of CEIE, with Shi Yumeng, Han Suting, Zhang Yupeng, Bi Suzhi, Huang Jiwu, He Yejun, Ge Lei, Qiu Guoping, Liao Bin, Li Bin, Song Yufeng, Huang Lei, Feng Daquan, Zhang Shengli, Wang Shiwei, Wang Guoping, Zhang Xiao, Feng Botao, Xing Hong, Ye Wenbin, and He Wenlong named on the list.
In this list, there are a total of 178 scholars selected for the "2021 Annual Scientific Impact Rankings" from Shenzhen University, of which CEIE has the most selected scholars (21), ranking first in the university. Shenzhen University has a total of 57 scholars selected for the "Lifetime Scientific Impact Rankings", of which 8 scholars are from CEIE, ranking second in the university.
