IEEE RFAT 2026 (The 9th 2026 IEEE International Conference on Radio Frequency and Antenna Technologies) was successfully held in Shenzhen from May 15 to 18, 2026. This conference built a high-level academic platform to boost international collaboration in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to strengthen academic exchanges and cooperation among global researchers in radio frequency, antennas, wireless communications and related fields. Junfa Mao, Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Director of the National Key Laboratory of RF Heterogeneous and Heterogeneous Integration, and Chair Professor at Shenzhen University, acted as the General Chair of IEEE RFAT 2026 and delivered the welcome address at the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was presided over by Yejun He, Distinguished Professor at Shenzhen University, serving as the Executive Chair of IEEE RFAT 2026.
IEEE RFAT 2026 was co-organized by Shenzhen University and the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (IEEE AP-S), with technical guidance from the IEEE AP-S Shenzhen Chapter. The conference was supported by State Key Laboratory of Radio Frequency Heterogeneous Integration, Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Semiconductor Heterogeneous Integration Technology, Sino-British Joint Laboratory of Antennas and Propagation of Ministry of Science and Technology of P.R. At the opening ceremony on May 16, Professor Junfa Mao extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to keynote speakers, distinguished guests from home and abroad, and all authors. He introduced the development of the State Key Laboratory of Radio Frequency Heterogeneous Integration, and Shenzhen University’s achievements in education, research and talent cultivation. As the founding institution of IEEE RFAT, Shenzhen University gathered global experts to share cutting-edge and innovative research outcomes.

The main conference program spanned two full days, attracting more than 250 attendees from over 13 countries. It featured 8 keynote speeches, 24 parallel oral sessions (including 5 invited speakers), and a half-day workshop with 3 distinguished speakers.

On the morning of May 18, the workshop on future RF and wireless communication was presented by Prof. Chen Yikai, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Dr. Wei E. I. Sha, Zhejiang University, and Prof. Wei Xu, Southeast University.
A total of 130 oral presentations were set up in the parallel sessions on the afternoons of May 16 and 17. All qualified papers that meet IEEE standards and quality requirements will be submitted to IEEE Xplore and indexed by EI. The conference strictly followed international academic practices and included a welcome reception, conference banquet and cultural performances. At the banquet, five Best Paper Awards were issued, and four patrons’ Awards were issued. IEEE RFAT 2026 received extensive attention and high acclaim from academic and industrial communities worldwide. It further strengthened international academic exchanges in radio frequency, antennas and wireless communications, broadened the horizon of the National Key Laboratory of RF Heterogeneous and Heterogeneous Integration, and enhanced the global influence of Shenzhen University.
