The sub-forum for young Scientists of the College of Electronics and Information Engineering of Shenzhen University was successfully concluded

In response to major national demands and international academic frontiers, our college has undertaken a number of national key research projects in recent years, including 1 national major project, 1 national outstanding youth fund, 1 national excellent youth fund, and 10 national key projects. In 2021, the college's research funding amounted to 100 million yuan, and it is expected to reach 120 million yuan in 2022. In recent years, the college has won several scientific and technological achievement awards, including 2 first prizes of the Military Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 first prize of the Natural Science Award of the China Computer Federation, 1 first prize of the Technical Invention Award of the China Institute of Communications, 1 first prize of the Technical Invention Award of the Chinese Institute of Electronics, 1 second prize of the Natural Science Award of the Ministry of Education, and 2 second prizes of the Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award.


On December 10th, in order to enhance the discipline brand and influence of the college and increase efforts to attract young talents at home and abroad, our college successfully held the Shenzhen University Electronic and Information Engineering College Youth Scientists Sub-forum. The forum invited 22 young scholars from home and abroad to give academic presentations, and the number of online viewers reached 200.


Professor Cai Maoguo, the secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Electronic and Information Engineering, presided over the opening ceremony of the forum. He extended a sincere welcome to the participating scholars and briefly introduced the basic situation of the university and the college. He also gave a detailed introduction to the background and purpose of the Shenzhen University Youth Scientists Cloud Forum and the college sub-forum.


Ding Wenhua, the dean of the College of Electronic and Information Engineering and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, attended the forum and gave a speech. He expressed the college's eagerness to seek talented individuals, thanked and welcomed the 22 young talents who came to participate in the forum, and introduced the important strategy of Shenzhen University's deep integration into the "three-step" construction of Shenzhen. He emphasized the important opportunities facing the college in the construction of Shenzhen University and the "Double Zone" of Shenzhen and welcomed all the young talents to join hands with the College of Electronic and Information Engineering to create a bright future.


Subsequently, 22 young scholars from universities at home and abroad, including the University of Hong Kong, Nanyang Technological University, Ohio State University, the University of Warwick, the University of Victoria in Canada, the Technical University of Munich, the University of New South Wales, the University of Surrey, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Peking University, Tsinghua Research Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Beijing Jiaotong University, the University of Science and Technology of China, Xidian University, Hubei University, Hunan University, Northeastern University, and Shenzhen University, etc., shared their research work and latest achievements. Under the chairmanship of Vice Deans Zhang Shengli and Li Yanshan, the academic reports proceeded in an orderly manner. The scholars' presentations were diverse, covering cutting-edge research in areas such as wireless communication theory, mobile edge computing, data-driven optimization, machine learning, artificial intelligence and computer vision, deep learning and equivalent circuit, medical data processing, the cross-fusion of intelligent agriculture, electromagnetics, semiconductors, optical and laser development, etc. Their research ideas were very innovative, and the teachers and students present truly felt the academic feast.
