On September 5, 2024, the signing ceremony of the major University-Enterprise Cooperation Project between Shenzhen University and Netac Technology Co., Ltd: SZU-Netac Arithmetic Scheduling and Enhancement Joint Laboratory, was held in conference room 201, Huiyuan building, Yuehai campus of Shenzhen University. Prof. Hui Zhou, Vice President of Shenzhen University; Prof. Lei Huang, Executive Dean of the College of Electronics and Information Engineering; Mr. Zhirong Lv, Chairman of Netac Technology Co., Ltd; Mr. Lisong Xu, Executive Vice President of Netac Technology Co., Ltd, and other relevant departments attended the signing ceremony. It was also attended by Dr. Yue Chen, Director of the Department of Laboratory and State Assets Management, Dr. Yang Wei, Vice Dean of the Department of Science and Technology Development, Prof. Jianqiang Li, Executive Director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology, and Prof. Bin Qin, Secretary of Information Center. The meeting was hosted by Prof. Peichang Zhang, Vice Dean of the College of Electronics and Information Engineering.


Prof. Zhou Hui, Vice President of SZU, warmly welcomed the arrival of Mr. Zhirong Lv, Mr. Lisong Xu, and other members of Netac Technology. He said that Shenzhen University has always been open and inclusive to promoting high-quality and high-level university-enterprise cooperation, enhancing universities' technological innovation capacity from practical applications, and encouraging industry demand-driven research mechanisms. He emphasized that enterprises are the main battlefield for transforming advanced science and technology into the first productive forces, an important place for the first resource of talents, and a major subject for generating the first impetus for innovation. Correspondingly, higher education is an important source for the formation of the first productive forces of science and technology, for the cultivation of the first resources of talents, and for the generation of the first impetus for innovation. Mr. Zhirong Lv, Chairman of Netac Technology, introduced that Netac Technology has been committed to developing and innovating storage technology since its establishment in 1999. The company has made remarkable achievements in solid-state hard disk and mobile storage devices. Their storage products have been exported to over a hundred countries and regions worldwide. In 2022, the national "East Data, West Computing" project was officially launched. Then Shaoguan City became the only national computing power hub node in Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area. In the same year, Shaoguan City Investment became the largest shareholder of Netac. Therefore, Netac has become a strategic location of Shaoguan City around the "East Data, West Computing" layout. It has gradually transformed from the traditional storage product research and sales to the "East Data, West Computing" Shaoguan cluster of computing power industrial investment platform. He said that Shenzhen University, as a domestically famous university, a Shenzhen premier first-class university in cloud computing resource scheduling and allocation, arithmetic enhancement, computer science and technology, etc., has a deep academic precipitation. He believes that through close cooperation, we can make breakthroughs of technical progress in arithmetic scheduling and enhancement, jointly promote the construction of the arithmetic capacity of the Shaoguan hub node, and help the high-quality development of the arithmetic industry in Guangdong Province, Hong Kong, and Macao Greater Bay Area.

Mr. Lixong Xu, V.P. of Netac, then introduced the development and strategic layout of the company in a full range. He said that at the current stage, Netac is committed to promoting the construction of arithmetic scheduling capabilities. They hope that the arithmetic scheduling platform will converge universal arithmetic, intelligent arithmetic, high-performance arithmetic, edge arithmetic, and other multiple arithmetic resources to realize the heterogeneous arithmetic resource scheduling capabilities across resource pools, architectures, and vendors. He firmly believes that the cooperation between Netac and SZU will promote the completion of the arithmetic scheduling platform, which will become an effective hand of Shaoguan City around the "East Data, West Computing" closed-loop arithmetic industry chain layout, and at the same time, will accelerate the interconnection of Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macao Bay Area arithmetic resources, laying a foundation for arithmetic operations, arithmetic commercialization landing.

After that, Executive Dean Prof. Lei Huang reported on the platform construction and development plan of the SZU-Netac Arithmetic Scheduling and Enhancement Joint Laboratory. Netac Technology plans to invest 10 million RMB to provide research funding for the joint laboratory through technical entrustment of research projects. Postdoc. Sijia Lai, Prof. Weize Sun and Dr. Wei Nie will be mainly responsible for the research in the joint laboratory. A comprehensive management office will be set up to be responsible for decision-making on major matters and to promote practical needs such as new technology research, new product design, new function iteration, and new process improvement in such cutting-edge fields as arithmetic architecture theory and methodology, intelligent scheduling and arithmetic optimization, and collaborative integration and innovation arithmetic enhancement. In addition, the two sides will jointly promote the industrialization of research results, form intellectual property rights, and actively declare scientific research platforms at all levels and various subject awards.
Furthermore, participants from both sides had a full and enthusiastic discussion on the subsequent construction of the joint laboratory. Vice President Hui Zhou gave guidance on the joint training of professional postgraduate students by SZU and Netac. Director Yue Chen put forward high requirements for laboratory equipment management and information security. Vice Dean Wei Yang introduced the leading position of SZU on research funding in national universities. Director Jianqiang Li said that the National Engineering Laboratory of DBSC and the Intelligent Computing Center will fully support the construction of the joint laboratory and will work together to help the rapid and high-quality development of the arithmetic foundation of SZU. Secretary Bin Qin also expressed his expectation for the project cooperation between the Information Center and the Joint Laboratory.

Finally, the signing ceremony was launched. The representatives and witnesses of both parties signed on the stage and took photos to commemorate the event.
