陈志宁:博士,教授,博士生导师,新加坡工程院院士,IEEE Fellow。毕业于通信工程学院并获电子工程工学学士、微波与电磁场工程工学硕士学位及通信与电子系统工学博士学位。后于日本筑波大学获其第二个工学博士学位。2019年当选为新加坡工程院院士。自2016年12月以来任深圳市天线与电波重点实验室学术委员会委员、广东省基站天线与电波工程技术研究中心技术委员会委员(顾问委员会副主任委员)。现担任IEEE天线与传播学会Adcom行政执行委员会委员。

一 九八八至一九九五年,陈教授曾在通信工程学院从事教学与科研。一九九三至九五年,加入东南大学作为博士后,后任副教授(资格)。一九九五至一九九七年,赴香港城市大学,曾任研究助理及研究士。一九九七年至一九九九年,获日本学术振兴会资助赴日本筑波大学从事研究。之后,又于二零零一和二零零四年两次获日本学术振兴会资助赴日本筑波大学从事短期访问研究(高级)。二零零四年,作为访问学者加入美国国际商用机器公司华森研究中心进行访问研究。二零一三年,作为DIGITEO高级客座科学家访问法国Supelec大学以及自强教授访问上海大学。二零一四年作为海外杰出讲座教授访问复旦大学。二零一四年入选中国教育部**学者讲座教授(东南大学)。二零一五年作为资深 教授访问日本东北大学。一九九九年至二零一二年,加入新加坡科技与研究局通信资讯研究院,曾任首席科学家和射频与光研究部主任,领导一支七十余名研究员和 工程师从事工程研究、开发及技术转让。于二零一二年,加入新加坡国立大学电子与计算机工程系任终身正教授,曾兼任新加坡科技与研究局通信资讯研究院科技顾问和首席科学家。陈教授曾兼任东南大学、南京大学、同济大学、上海交通大学、中国科技大学、大连海事大学、清华大学、香港城市大学,复旦大学,华南理工大学,浙江大学,日本东北大学及日本千叶大学客座或兼职或访问教授进行教学、联合培养博士生及合作研究。现曾兼任毫米波国家重点实验室(东南大学及香港城市大学)学术 委员会委员、新加坡科技与研究局公共科研基金、陈嘉庚青少年发明奖以及新加坡法国合作研究基金评审委员会委员。迄今,陈教授已经组织和领导新加坡科技与研究十一项重大项目及五十多工业合作研究及技术转让项目。

陈教授十分活跃于国际学术界。他已经作为大会主席、技术程序委员会主席、评奖委员会主席或国际指导委员会主席组织与参与许多国际学术活动。他是国际天线技术专题大会(iWAT)、国际微波论坛(IMWF)、国际资讯通信及多媒体技术在生物医学及健保中应用专题大会(IS 3T-in-3A)、及亚太天线与传播大会(APCAP)的发起人及首届大会主席。他曾任国际电子电气工程师学会天线与传播学会专题大会(IEEE APS 2021)的总主席。

由于在天线小型及宽带设计的杰出贡献,陈教授于二零零七年晋升为国际电子电气工程师学会会士(IEEE Fellow)。曾任IEEE天线与传播学会新技术委员会委员、IEEE会士评审委员会委员、IEEE杰出演讲者(Distinguished Lecturer)和IEEE RFID联盟副总裁。在担任IEEE天线与传播学会新加坡分会主席期间,该分会获IEEE天线与传播学会颁发的以及IEEE新加坡分部颁发的两个“二零零八年最佳分会奖”。

陈教授应邀在国际上发表了百余场技术演讲。他曾任11个国际期刊的主编、副主编、特邀主编或编委(如JEMWA,IJUWBCS,JKIEES,IEEE TAP等)。

陈教授已发表了720余篇学术论文(其中一百多篇发表在IEEE Transactions)。他撰写、主编和出版了五本英文著作(《Broadband Planar Antennas:Design and Applications》, 《UWB Wireless Communication》, 《Antennas for Portable Devices》,《Antennas for Base Station in Wireless Communications》,《Handbook of AntennaTechnologies》)。他还于一九九二年翻译出版了《小型天线》(Small Antennas)。

陈教授是三十八项专利的发明人,并成功地实现三十五项次技术转让。曾五次获最佳论文奖(International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation Best Paper Award 2010, the CST University Publication Award 2008, IEEE AP-S Honorable Mention Student Paper Contest 2008, I2R Quarterly Best Paper Award 2004, IEEE iWAT 2005 Best Poster Award)及六项科技进步奖(国家教委科技进步奖,军队科技进步奖,江苏省国防科技进步奖及四次新加坡 IES Prestigious Engineering Achievement Award 2006,2013,2014)和2013 ASEAN杰出科技奖。2021年获得IEEE天线与传播学会颁发的克劳斯天线奖(John D. Kraus Antenna Award),以表彰他在天线工程用电磁超材料研究中所做出的开创性贡献。

陈教授目前的研究兴趣包括微波、毫米波、亚毫米波及太赫兹通信、雷达及成像系统中的天线与传播。

BIO: Zhi Ning Chen (M’99-SM’05-F’07) received his BEng, MEng, and PhD degrees all in Electrical En-gineering from the Institute of Communications En-gineering (ICE), China and his second PhD degree from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, respectively. During 1988-1995, he worked as a Lecturer and later an Associate Professor at ICE as well as a Postdoctoral Fellow and later an Associate Professor at Southeast University, China. During 1995-1997, he joined the City University of Hong Kong as a Research Assistant and later a Research Fellow. In 1997, he was awarded the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellowship to conduct his research at the University of Tsukuba, Japan. During 1999-2016, he worked with the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R) as Prin-cipal Scientist, Head for RF and Optical Department, and Technical Advisor. In 2012, he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore as a tenured Full Professor and now Program Director (Industry). He is holding/held the concurrent guest professorships at Southeast University (Changjiang Chair Professor), Nanjing University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Tongji University, Uni-versity of Science and Technology of China, Fudan University (Outstanding Visiting Professor), Dalian Maritime University, Chiba University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Shanghai University (Ziqiang Professor), Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Tohoku University and City University of Hong Kong (Adjunct Professor). He is also serving as the members of State Key Laboratory of Millimeter-waves at Southeast University and City University of Hong Kong. Dr Chen is the founding General Chairs of International Workshop on Antenna Technology (iWAT in 2005), International Symposium on InfoComm and Mechatronics Technology in Bio-Medical and Healthcare Application (IS 3Tin3A in 2010), International Microwave Forum (IMWF in 2010), and Asia-Pacific Conference on Antennas and Propagation (APCAP in 2012). He also involved many international events as General Chairs, Chairs and members for technical program committees and international advisory committees. Currently Dr Chen is interested in electromagnetic engineering and antennas/sensors for communication, radar, imaging and sensing systems. He has published more than 720 academic papers and five books entitled Broadband Planar Antennas (Wiley 2005), UWB Wireless Communication (Wiley 2006), Antennas for Portable Devices (Wiley 2007), Antennas for Base Stations in Wireless Com-munications (McGraw-Hill 2009), and Handbook of Antenna Technologies with 76 chapters (by Springer References in 2016 as an Editor-in-Chief). He has also contributed the chapters to the books entitled UWB Antennas and Propagation for Communications, Radar, and Imaging (Wiley 2006), Antenna Engineering Handbook (McGraw-Hill 2007), Microstrip and Printed Antennas (Wiley 2010), and Electromagnetics of Body Area Networks (Wiley 2016). He is holding 28 granted/ filed patents with 35 licensed deals with industry. He is the recipient of International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation Best Paper Award 2010, the CST University Publication Awards 2008 and 2015, ASEAN Outstanding Engineering Achievement Award 2013, Institution of Engineers Singapore Prestigious Engineering Achievement Awards 2006, 2013(2), and 2014, I2R Quarterly Best Paper Award 2004, IEEE iWAT 2005 Best Poster Award, several technology achievement awards from China during 1990-1997 as well as more than 19 academic awards by the students he supervised. In 2021, Prof. Chen obtained John Kraus Antenna Award for outstanding contributions to translational research of electromagnetic metamaterials for antenna engineering. 

Dr Chen was elevated to a Fellow of the IEEE for the contribution to small and broadband antennas for wireless applications in 2007. He has served IEEE Council on RFID as a Vice President and a Distinguished Lecturer since 2015. He severed IEEE Transaction on Antennas and Propagation as an Associate Editor and IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society as a Distinguished Lecturer. He was elevated to a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering, Singapore in 2019.
