报告摘要:

Multifunctional \r
reconfigurable antennas are capable of providing full flexibilities of \r
frequency, polarization and radiation patterns to satisfy the desired \r
specifications in modern intelligent systems for applications of 5G \r
communication, wearable systems, IoT and future sensing technologies. \r
Reconfigurable antennas designed with advanced scalability and new materials are \r
highly expected to cater these emerging applications. Recent progress from our \r
group has demonstrated the new directions of a possible mechanism for diverse \r
reconfigurable antenna designs. For proof of the concept, design examples with \r
the capabilities of 360-degree polarization scanning and 360-degree beam \r
steering are introduced taking advantage of the proposed approach of \r
individually control of shorting vias. The design example of a flexible material \r
integrated reconfigurable antenna is also demonstrated for future smart wearable \r
systems.
